Everyone you know seems to be listening to audiobooks these days; you have noticed that, too. Right? It is not just your social circle who are interested in audiobooks recently. It is becoming a general trend among readers.
A research carried out by Edison Research and Triton Media on behalf of the Audio Publishers Association (APA) demonstrates that 50% of Americans age 12 and above have listened to an audiobook. This is the first time that audiobooks’ consumer penetration has reached the 50% mark, up from 44% in 2018.
This shows that although print books still have fans among the reading population, audiobook listening is on the rise.
According to a research conducted by Audible, audiobooks have much more emotional impact on the listener during key points of the plot. An increased emotional impact is not the only reason for this book format to be popular, though. Research shows that audiobook listeners prefer it to print version for faster book covering. Actually, they use audiobooks to go over a book in a shorter time period.
Book publishers, among other content providers, such as book summary publishers, bloggers, etc. should pay attention to this change of taste and add a new line to their products sooner rather than later.
